Ladies and gentlemen, I have met Jesus, and his name is Franz.
I have often lamented about the multitude of inboxes we all have. I would really just like to have one, in one interface. Both for desktop and for phone.
Well – I still don’t.
But I know what the best option is so far.
For a couple of weeks, I have been trying out Franz. A simple tool that gathers most of your communication services. It takes a little while to get used to it, as it does, and a little while to set it up the way you want it.
But now? Instead of hopping back and forth between browser windows, I have the Franz software up and running. I see most of what I need to see there. My Messenger, my Gmail, my LinkedIn, my Twitter DMs…
Things missing? Many. I would prefer a collected interface, truly one inbox for everything. I would prefer it if it was possible to connect my regular text messages to the same service. (It is for many, but it doesn’t seem to work for me.)
Franz makes me happy in one more way: It is developed in Austria, by a guy named Stefan Malzner.
Check it out.
Support him.
He is on his way to something really great.
